Ashir gets an opportunity to study at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University

Since childhood, Ashir was interested in science and technology. He had a dream to do something bigger, but he did not have any formal training. He passed S.S.C with a CGPA of 3.9. Later, from a local college in Banshkhali, he passed H.S.C with a CGPA of 3.5 only. He was admitted to a polytechnic college. However, when the news of these aircraft made by Ashir spread on social media and mass media, it came to the attention of many concerned. In recognition of his unique talent, Ashir is going to get the opportunity to study at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University. It is worth mentioning that this is the first higher education institution on aerospace engineering in Bangladesh.

On Wednesday (October 13), Ashir came to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University in Dhaka. Air Vice-Marshal Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of this specialized university, said, “We brought Ashir to the university thinking of using his innovative talent for the country.” Md. Zaheer Uddin, Head of the Department of Aviation Operations Management, told reporters that his wife showed him Ashir’s video on Facebook. He shared it with the group of university authorities. Later, when it came to the attention of Vice-Chancellor Muhammad Nazrul Islam, he ordered to bring Ashir to the university.

It took four years for Ashir to build miniature models of nine different aircraft of different countries. Not only that, he also made a battery-run speedboat. He bought the necessary parts by saving his own money. He dreams that one-day passenger plane made by him would fly in the blue sky. Ashir wants to represent Bangladesh in the world with his inventions. For this reason, he is preparing himself from now on. This achievement of his is the first step towards fulfilling his dream. Hailing from a remote village and getting the opportunity to come to the Aeronautical Institute, Dhaka, is undoubtedly a huge achievement for Ashir. All the members of his family are proud of this achievement of Ashir. He thinks that it has become possible to come to that place with their encouragement and cooperation. Not only that, local neighbors and well-wishers are ecstatic about his success. Every day countless enthusiastic people come to see his planes.

Now, Ashir is the name of inspiration for young inventors of Bangladeshi. Many talented youngsters like Ashir are scattered in remote areas of the country who do not get any opportunity to showcase their talent in front of the world. Academic results are not everything, one’s determination and willpower will make him successful and Ashir is a shining example. We need experts who can support and train young men who are way ahead in creativity compared to traditional academic studies.

There are many talented young men like Ashir all over Bangladesh who remain unknown and continue to develop themselves. We all hope that they will take Bangladesh to a new height.

Mobile Phone Mania

It is of no use talking about the importance of mobile phone, which is regarded as one of the greatest inventions in the modern era. This small electronic device is no more a fashion item. Nowadays, people irrespective of age, race, color and social class use mobile phone in their everyday activities. So, at present, we cannot think of anyone who does not have a mobile phone. It has become an inseparable part of our everyday life. Mobile phone has become very common that you can see people all over the world using it. Though it is used by people of all ages, the young generation, in particular, is becoming more and more interested in mobile phone. However, this small and easy-to-carry device is also known as a cellular phone.

Today, if we look at the mobile phone users around the globe, we can see that the latest mobile phone handsets mostly attract average teenagers. They are always moved by the latest technology in mobile phone sets. It is assumed that the number of mobile phone users around the world is more or less 7 billion. Mobile phone has become one of the most popular means of entertainment to its users. Aside from the traditional functions, mobile phones are now used to listen to FM radio, play music, take photographs and videos, send voice messages, play video games and perform a variety of other tasks.

There might be a debate whether mobile phone is a blessing or a curse. If we write pages after pages and talk hours after hours, it will not come to an end. However, like other inventions, it has some disadvantages too. It has been invented so that we can keep in touch with our nearer and dearer ones. Sometimes people get too much involved with mobile phone that they cannot keep their full concentration on other daily activities. When people get more addicted to mobile phone then it is called mobile phone mania. Those who suffer from mobile mania cannot think even a single moment without mobile phone.

Abuse of mobile phone:

Initially, mobile phone technology came into being with the aim of making communication easier. There is doubt that mobile phone has changed our lives, and it has become more popular because of its wireless technology, which allows its users to roam around the world and remain connected to other people.

However, I have earlier mentioned that mobile phone has some disadvantages. Today, mobile phone is also used in different ways. The abuse of mobile phone has become the reason for causing harm to general people. Now, I am describing the abuse of mobile phone point by point below:

Teenagers, in most cases, are not doing proper use of cell phones. They spend more time with their cell phone, and as a result, it is causing harm to their studies. Now, it is used to threat others.

As most of the cell phone users are teenagers and many mobile phone companies are giving special rates at night after 12 o’clock, they use these special offers involving in meaningless jabber. As a result, it affects their health, and consequently, it affects their studies.

Nowadays, many people are using mobile phone to commit crimes. Sometimes, people use mobile phone to irritate an unknown person just for making some dirty funs. With the growing use of mobile phone, terrorists can now easily communicate among themselves. Thus, the number of terrorist activities has increased alarmingly.

Usefulness of mobile phone:

Mobile phone has become very popular among users because of its advantages. The main purpose of using this gadget is to communicate with others. Mobile phone reduces the distances between two people. Except this, it has many useful works, which I will describe below:

It is easy to carry. So, you can communicate with others from anywhere and can send your information by cell phone at any time. Thus, you have 24-hour access to communicate with other people.

To cover the market, most of the mobile phone companies are giving cheap rate. As a result, mobile phone users are getting the benefit to call others at a cheap rate.

Day by day, cell phones are also becoming cheaper and fashionable. So, any limited earner now has the ability to buy a mobile phone set according to his budget.

Now, it is not only a talking machine. You can listen to music and live update news on your cell phone anytime anywhere. So, you can say that it is used to give us entertainment.

Mobile phone:

Mobile phones are of different kinds. Every mobile phone company produces different models and categories of mobile phones thinking about people and their ability. Mobile phone price depends and varies on its model and function. Everyday mobile phone companies are producing latest mobile phone including the latest offer to attract people. Four mobile phone manufacturing companies are more popular all over the world. These are iPhone, Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi. Apart from these, local electronics company Walton is doing pretty well. Every day many new mobile phone manufacturing companies are coming to the market with their lots of attractive technologies.

Mobile phone connecting company:

Mobile phone is useless if it does not have a sim or rim connection. Now, in our local market, we can see mobile phone connecting companies like Banglalink, Grameenphone, Robi, Airtel, etc. No doubt, without any mobile phone connection company, mobile phone is a useless machine. These different companies are giving different facilities to attract and increase their users. Some companies give cheap rates in any special number. We are accustomed to FnF. This facility is given by cell phone connecting companies to talk to some particular numbers. Then, it comes to SMS. Anyone can send more information at a low cost with SMS technology and it is very easy to use. Some mobile phone companies are providing internet access through their connections. Mobile phone is bringing the world closer day by day.

Facebook launches new ‘care’ reactions for App and Messenger

Because of the outbreak of coronavirus all over the world, people have been locked inside their home for an uncertain period. At this crisis moment, finding no other ways, they have taken to social media platform as a means of communication with their friends, family and neighbors. Taking this issue into consideration, Facebook has come up with two new “care” reactions- “yellow face hugging a red heart” for Facebook app and website and “pulsating purple heart” for Messenger. These new emojis will give people a way of showing their support with one another amid COVID-19 lockdown.

Facebook users will find these new reactions next to the existing ones- Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, Angry etc. Like many people, I am also eagerly waiting to use these emojis on the posts, comments, images, videos or other contents shared by my nearer and dearer ones on Facebook app, website and Messenger. However, the new “care” reaction for Facebook app and website is temporary, but there is a probability of it being permanent. Everything depends on the mood of the Facebook authority.

In the end, I will request all Facebook users to make proper use of technology. Do not use it for disturbing or sexually offending someone. It is a punishable crime as well as sin. If you do so, it will also happen with one of your family members.

Bell Nexus: A Flying Taxi

If you had watched the science fiction movie, Avatar, you might have noticed the imaginary helicopter and regretted that if it were real. However, you will not have to wait for a long time to see this concept helicopter in real shape. Bell, a Texas-based firm, showcased the prototype of its air taxi, named Bell Nexus, at CES 2019 in Las Vegas. They demonstrated the interior of this air taxi model at the same show last year. It indicates that the company has made significant progress in this aircraft and is likely to launch it as soon as possible. If everything goes well then it might be seen testing sooner than the expected time. There is a possibility that the air taxi will be inaugurated at the middle of the 2020. Those days are not far away when people will take air ride like car and motor ride using smartphone apps. Thanks to this advanced technology, we will not have to sit hours after hours in traffic jam.
Bell Nexus is a hybrid-electric air taxi that can take off and land vertically. It has six tilting ducked fans, three on each side. This vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) technology will help the vehicle to move through the air safely. It has five seats, including a pilot cockpit. It weighs around 6000 pound and can cover 150 miles with the highest speed of 150 miles per hour.

Pathao: From jobless to the owner of $100 million

Three founders of ride-sharing company, Pathao, did something that could not be done by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Alibaba founder Jack Ma and even Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Within a very short period of time, Pathao became so popular that it attracted foreign investors to invest a huge amount of money in this local startup. It made three unemployed youths- Hussain M Elius, Shifat Adnan and Kishore Hashemi- millionaire. Now, they are the role model to many youth who want to start their own startup.
In Dhaka city, smartphone-based transport app Pathao has already created a lot of response in the transport system. Pathao has revolutionized the transport system of Dhaka, one of the populous cities in the world. Such initiative has decreased the suffering and adversity of the dwellers of the capital.

It was March 2015. Of the three entrepreneurs, Hussain M Elius had just completed his M.B.A degree in Marketing from North South University. Shifat Adnan, another founder, had already graduated with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET). These two young people thought of doing something on their own instead of running after job.

To make their thought come true, two friends started working as delivery agent in a limited capacity. They delivered documents to homes on by-cycle. That is how ‘Pathao’, today’s popular ride sharing company, began its journey.

At a time, two friends thought of starting two-wheeler or motorcycle service. Motorbike would easily take the passenger from one place to another place. As a result, it will save time on the one hand, and on the other hand, passengers will not have to pay extra money. At that time, Kishore Hashemi, who studied in Canada, joined Pathao.

The three people together started the work of making app with the local developer. After making app, they launched the smartphone-based motorbike service, Pathao, for the first time in the capital. This service was launched in November 2016.

These three young people, who started from zero, are now the owners of $100 million or Tk 820 crore in Bangladeshi currency, which is a unique record for Bangladeshi youth. They started the business with three motorcycles, their only asset.

With honesty and industry, they started getting success in a short period of time. Seeing their success, many foreign investors invested in their business. As a result, these three young people could become the owner of $100 million.

Crossing the national boundary, Pathao is going to set its foot in international arena. This organization, which provides bike, car and food services through app, is going to start its operation in Nepal now this time. This is going to be the first Bangladeshi ride-sharing start-up to start its operation abroad. Pathao officials have said that they will give formal announcement regarding this matter very soon.
