Ashir gets an opportunity to study at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University

Since childhood, Ashir was interested in science and technology. He had a dream to do something bigger, but he did not have any formal training. He passed S.S.C with a CGPA of 3.9. Later, from a local college in Banshkhali, he passed H.S.C with a CGPA of 3.5 only. He was admitted to a polytechnic college. However, when the news of these aircraft made by Ashir spread on social media and mass media, it came to the attention of many concerned. In recognition of his unique talent, Ashir is going to get the opportunity to study at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University. It is worth mentioning that this is the first higher education institution on aerospace engineering in Bangladesh.

On Wednesday (October 13), Ashir came to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University in Dhaka. Air Vice-Marshal Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of this specialized university, said, “We brought Ashir to the university thinking of using his innovative talent for the country.” Md. Zaheer Uddin, Head of the Department of Aviation Operations Management, told reporters that his wife showed him Ashir’s video on Facebook. He shared it with the group of university authorities. Later, when it came to the attention of Vice-Chancellor Muhammad Nazrul Islam, he ordered to bring Ashir to the university.

It took four years for Ashir to build miniature models of nine different aircraft of different countries. Not only that, he also made a battery-run speedboat. He bought the necessary parts by saving his own money. He dreams that one-day passenger plane made by him would fly in the blue sky. Ashir wants to represent Bangladesh in the world with his inventions. For this reason, he is preparing himself from now on. This achievement of his is the first step towards fulfilling his dream. Hailing from a remote village and getting the opportunity to come to the Aeronautical Institute, Dhaka, is undoubtedly a huge achievement for Ashir. All the members of his family are proud of this achievement of Ashir. He thinks that it has become possible to come to that place with their encouragement and cooperation. Not only that, local neighbors and well-wishers are ecstatic about his success. Every day countless enthusiastic people come to see his planes.

Now, Ashir is the name of inspiration for young inventors of Bangladeshi. Many talented youngsters like Ashir are scattered in remote areas of the country who do not get any opportunity to showcase their talent in front of the world. Academic results are not everything, one’s determination and willpower will make him successful and Ashir is a shining example. We need experts who can support and train young men who are way ahead in creativity compared to traditional academic studies.

There are many talented young men like Ashir all over Bangladesh who remain unknown and continue to develop themselves. We all hope that they will take Bangladesh to a new height.
